Perfectly powered with my small wave board, small fin and 4.5m sail. I did consider using the 4m at first but didn't think there was quite enough wind for it and I'm glad I didn't as the 4.5m was perfect.

I had a great time blasting up and down the beach jumping and wave-riding on both tacks and sailing out into the estuary mouth now and then. There was no one else out but there was quite a few people out for walks along the beach, all of whom stopped to watch for a while.

Just as I was about to call it a day someone came out with a kite so I thought I'd have just a few more runs, but as he got on the water the wind eased off a little and I started to sink so I thought better of staying out as I didn't fancy a walk of shame after such a good session. 2 minutes later and the kiter was sorting out a crashed kite on the beach and walking back. I'm not sure who it was or what happened but he didn't seem to be getting on too well.

All in all an excellent session, I just love big westerly winds.
